My father, aged 70, was referred to Whipps Cross Hospital under the care of Dr Thamina Pearsall for Cataract surgery for both eyes. The procedure for his right eye was done in May and the left eye was due in November. However, seeing my father's deterioration in his vision and to prevent further damage, Dr Pearsall prioritised his surgery at an earlier date and had the left eye surgery in July. She also administered a device in his eye which helps maintain the pressure in his eyes. Prior to his surgery, he was unable to see without a magnifying glass and was not able to differentiate between figures 5,6 and 8. After the surgery, he is able to do all the above and more with ease and thanks to Dr Pearsall, his quality of life has improved immensely. I cannot emphasise enough how truly amazing Dr Pearsall is. She went above and beyond for my father's treatment. We are extremely grateful to Dr Pearsall and forever indebted for her professionalism and care provided for my father. I truly wish he had been referred to Dr Pearsall earlier

My brother had extremely dense cataracts which were very successfully operated upon by Ms Tahmina Pearsall and her colleague. We are very grateful for the care and advice given by all the staff who were involved in my brother's treatment, which has greatly enhanced his quality of life. Please note that answers to the following questions relate to my brother.

Tahmina is a kind and caring doctor. She’s easy going and the way she looks after her patients is amazing. She is one of the best doctors and this was seen through how she treated my mum. She makes her patients feel comfortable and at ease and puts their needs first.

Our eyes are precious.. They are one of our most valuable assets and it is clear that everyone sitting opposite me in that chair is "anxious" - for me its important that they know that we are there to support, help and offer treatment and make that journey as comfortable as possible. You are never alone and we are there to share that burden.

I would like to add to my review below as I feel I didn’t stress enough the absolute rarity of my condition. With the condition being so rare it was missed by one Doctor I had seen before I see Ms Pearsall. Thankfully Ms Pearsall was so knowledgeable she knew of this condition and was able to quickly diagnose me with this. She did everything she could trying to get me the correct treatment from hospitals as she knew I faced being blind at age 18 if I wasn’t treated promptly. She tried her hardest to get me into any hospital that would give me the treatment she knew I desperately needed and was even still trying into the late hours of that night, Whilst still ringing me and reassuring me she would get this sorted. This just shows how much she really does care for her patients and she won’t stop until they have the correct treatment. After nearly a year on I am now rid of the condition and with 20/20 vision. I put this all down to Ms Pearsall and could not thank her enough. If you get the chance to be seen by Ms Pearsall you are definitely in safe hands !
